I am a political scientist researching the politics of Islam in Muslim-minority contexts. In my book project, I investigate the emergence of a fundamentalist Islam and its impact on social identities and political life of Muslims in sub-Saharan Africa. In other work, I examine the impact of institutional policies and societal attitudes on the meaningful inclusion and integration of Muslim minorities in Europe.
Currently I am a Presidential Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Politics at Princeton University. I obtained my PhD in Political Science at Stanford University in 2021. Previously I worked as a research associate at the Council for Foreign Relations and earned a BA in Political Science at Yale University.
